Great stuff last night.  I had a blast, and even though the score was not what we were hoping for we were all part of a pretty cool thing.  I will spare everyone the historical significance (if you are looking for the whole background just buy Pat Mason a few beers and he will be more than happy to detail the last 35 years of rugby in Bucks County), but trust me when I tell you that last night was great for our club, and for our sport.  Couple housekeeping items:
  1. PAY YOUR DUES!!!  We need to register guys with USA Rugby, pay for field supplies, after parties, supplies, etc ...
  2. Impromptu Baby Shower for Skinny Pat next Thursday night after practice at Pasquale's.  Yes, I said baby shower.  We will be leaning on Tattoo Todd for some details as to what we can buy for him.  We need to make sure we welcome new 'members' of the club right from the beginning.  Details to follow.
  3. Training - The season 'officially' starts now, so get to training and start thinking about what aspects of your game you want to work on.
  4. Congrats to our men of the match and the 'Goose of the Week'.  That shirt fit Vinny like a glove ... I'm sure it's not the only time he will be wearing it.  (full match report to follow)

The much anticipated Fall season gets underway tomorrow night at Falls Township field at 7PM sharp.  Make some phone calls and make sure everyone knows that we are getting underway.  We will be training every Tuesday & Thursday night throughout the Fall.  Some items to consider:

  • always have your mouthpiece
  • bring sneakers and spikes to every training session
  • wear appropriate rugby shorts/jerseys
  • try to bring one dark/one lighter colored jersey if possible
  • wear your best smile at all times
See you Tuesday night.
Justin
